Ghost Spider

The Ghost Spider arrived in 2011 as TaylorMade's follow-up to the Rossa Monza Spider, and per golfmonthly.com the model exists to replace that earlier putter. The most obvious change was cosmetic: golfmonthly.com and thehackersparadise.com both describe a white finish across the head, with golfmonthly.com noting the color exists to provide contrast against the turf, removes glare and hot spots. Putterzone.com frames the whole release plainly: "The Ghost Spider is essentially the same as the original Monza Spider, only better. The high-contrast white finish reduces the visual noise of the original while offering added alignment benefits."

That alignment work centers on what thehackersparadise.com and golfmonthly.com both call a basketball court alignment system, with golfmonthly.com specifying black alignment lines and 'Basketball Court' markings on the crown. Community-style reaction gathered on the model was largely favorable toward this: reviewers praised for alignment, feel, and makes putts, though one review flagged that the large head takes getting used to from outside 15 feet and that there's a slight distraction issue as there is so much going on, a note golfmonthly.com made directly. One reviewer also mentioned the face had different strike sounds which i was a little unsure of.

Underneath the paint, putterzone.com attributes to the release a Pure Roll grooved surlyn insert, face-balanced toe hang, a 360 gram head, 2.5 degrees of loft, 70 degrees of lie, and a Moveable Weight Technology kit for head weight customization, alongside a Winn grip with spider graphic and a magnetic-closure head cover. Golfmonthly.com separately describes weights in the back of the head can be changed to modify feel and most of the weight is situated in the perimeter, consistent with putterzone.com's stated design purpose of high moment of inertia (MOI) and stability. Putterzone.com lists an MSRP of 179 USD. Thehackersparadise.com, for its part, simply reports that the putter has stayed in the bag: "I have tested several putters since then, but nothing has been able to push the Ghost Spider out of my bag. I love the alignment and feel of it. And….it makes a whole lot of putts !"
