Here is the putter that’s currently in the bag. A German 303 stainless steel putter, in my Highland shape. 340g with an older FST 115g putter shaft, and a super stroke tour pistol.
Hello all,
Thanks for looking at my gamer. I game my putter in all kinds of weather.
In 2015, I saw some of Tai’s damascus putters and they looked amazing.
I reached out to Byron and asked him about damascus putters and he told me that he had a pair of heads, siblings from the same block and if I was interested in one.
In 2016, my custom ordered DH89 damascus was delivered.
Ordered at 34”/340g. Stainless steel damascus head, beached, and I asked for a copper neck. Byron said he wasn’t able to do that but was able to torch a neck to look like copper.
Original grip was a stitch back(I don’t remember the color). At some point, I ordered another shaft from Byron and put a red exotic stitchback(I am pretty sure I bought the grip from Byron but I really don’t recall and it doesn’t have his indicators on it) and pulled the original grip and shaft.
I also have a matching original Turfs Up took that Byron stamped my name on and used the same paint color as my putter.
Thank You,
Dave
The gamer, a custom Ping Anser 4K which is the Anser head with a 4 neck. Was one of the first few made in LH and did the whole PLD experience at Ping HQ which was awesome in itself.
Found Lamont on the previous Puttertalk site along with the other non mainstream makers. That was a can of worms for me. For the life of me I can’t locate my email from building this but we worked together on my specs and I let him stamp and color how he saw fit. I know it was after my SSB Masonboro I got in 2020.
I have, and could play just about any putter you can imagine. This LAB Link1 has been my gamer for over a year now, and I love it. Started with me rolling a few with one at a local golf store while I was waiting for them to re-grip a club...and I fell in love with it.
Went through their "Virtual Fitting" and ordered this one with the Accra shaft.
I know it's not a "Tour Putter" or the prettiest thing to look at, but man, do I ever love this putter.
