The Phantom X 7 released in 2021 carries the year designation 2022 on Scotty Cameron's own site, a mallet built around long, angular wings that the maker's page says aid alignment and position weight toward the back and perimeter. The maker describes it as completely re-designed from the sole up, pairing a precision milled solid stainless steel face and head with a center-balanced aluminum sole/flange component for better alignment, increased stability, and higher MOI. Titleist.com calls it a transformation from the previous generation and one of the most-requested mallet designs on Tour, a claim that also appears on Scotty Cameron's own product page.

The spec sheet holds a 3.5º loft, 70º lie, and stock lengths of 33, 34, and 35 inches, with custom loft adjustable -1º to +1º and custom lie -2º to +2º. Head construction is listed as 303 stainless steel face and body with a 6061 aircraft aluminum sole and flange component. Weighting scales down as length goes up: 2x20 grams at 33 inches, 2x15 grams at 34, and 2x10 grams at 35. Alignment comes from a milled sight line on the topline combined with white lines in the flange, and the head is described as nearly face-balanced despite the modern mallet shape, riding a stepless steel shaft with a single mid-bend aimed down the target line. It ships with a revamped Pistolero Plus grip finished in a decorative, non-slip texture.
