Newport Mallet 2

The Newport Mallet 2 line runs to two documented releases, both from 2016: the Cameron Crown Newport Mallet 2 and the Select Newport Mallet 2. Both are built as the mid-mallet counterpart to the Newport 2, and the maker's page describes the model as pairing that iconic Newport 2 shape with a full wrap-around sole-face of aircraft aluminum, aimed at a more stable and forgiving design than the standard Newport.

The Cameron Crown release carries the core specification the maker's page lists for the model: 3.5 degrees of loft, 70 degrees of lie, a 33 inch length, a 303 stainless steel head with 6061 aircraft aluminum face sole technology, full shaft offset, and a Matador small grip. It reads as a fixed, single-configuration edition, one length and one grip, built around that head material pairing.

The Select edition, also from 2016, keeps the same head material and the same loft and offset as the Cameron Crown version, but opens the model up considerably. Length is offered at 33, 34, or 35 inches, the grip moves up to a Matador Midsize 11 inch, and the maker's page adds a run of custom options not present on the Cameron Crown listing: half-inch custom lengths, loft adjustable from -1 to +1 degree, and lie adjustable from -2 to +2 degrees. The maker's page also lists weighting that scales with length, 20 gram weights at 33 inches, 15 grams at 34 inches, and 10 grams at 35 inches.
