Select Newport Mallet 2

The Select Newport Mallet 2 is the 2016 mid-mallet counterpart to the Newport 2, built with a full wrap-around sole-face of 6061 aircraft aluminum set into a 303 stainless steel body. Scotty Cameron's page describes it as a design meant to promote feel while mixing materials for easier alignment, more responsive feedback, and added stability compared to a blade.

Stock specs on the maker's page put loft at 3.5 degrees and lie at 70 degrees, with the head offered in 33, 34, and 35 inch lengths and a Matador Midsize 11 inch grip. Weighting scales with length: 2x20 grams at 33 inches, 2x15 grams at 34, and 2x10 grams at 35, and the head carries full shaft offset. Custom options extend the fitting range further, with loft adjustable -1 to +1 degree, lie adjustable -2 to +2 degrees, and half-inch length increments available on the right-handed model.

Within the Newport Mallet 2 line, this Select edition sits as the fuller-featured release, offering the three-length spread and the broader custom fitting window that the earlier Cameron & Crown version of the same head, cataloged only at 33 inches with a smaller Matador grip, did not carry.
