Select Newport 2 Dual Balance

The 2014 Select Newport 2 Dual Balance takes the Newport 2 shape and builds a counterbalanced setup around it. Scotty Cameron's page describes a 50-gram backweight set into the end of a longer 38 inch standard length shaft, paired with an additional 50 grams of headweight, a combination the maker says delivers unmatched stability and performance, guided by hand placement below a black guideline on the Dual Balance grip.

On spec, the head is milled 303 stainless steel, with 3.5 degrees of loft, 70 degrees of lie, and 3/4 shaft offset, all per Scotty Cameron. Standard length is 38 inches, with custom RH lengths available in half inch increments from 36 to 40 inches and custom lie adjustable plus or minus 2 degrees, again per the maker's page.

Against the rest of the Newport 2 line, this release is defined by its counterbalancing rather than any change to the head's core geometry. The added backweight and headweight, and the longer standard shaft, set it apart from a standard Newport 2 built to typical lengths, positioning the Dual Balance as the stability-oriented option within the Select family that year.
