The BB8 Flow's record with us begins in 2024, and by the maker's own account the name itself does not. Bettinardi's product page notes that the model arrives "over a decade since its last appearance," which places this release as a revival of a headshape rather than an introduction of one. What that earlier run looked like isn't part of what we hold here; what we hold starts with the 2024 BB Series edition.

That 2024 return came dressed in Black Pearl PVD, milled at Tinley Park with the maker's Perpetual Flymill Face Milling and priced at 450 USD. Bettinardi's page describes the work behind the head itself: the toe built 10% larger than the heel to counter the mass of the flow neck, bumpers and shoulders reshaped to pull the center of gravity into better alignment, and a face milling the maker says is "enhanced by sonic precision" for a consistent roll. The maker frames the whole package as being "for the golfer seeking a traditional blade putter with modern refinements, supreme feel, and remarkable control."

The line as we have it is a single release, but Bettinardi's own catalog shows that one release taking more than one coat. Alongside the Black Pearl PVD version sits a Studio B Reserve edition in Violet Haze PVD, part of what the maker calls offering "every model in our Violet Haze PVD finish" within the 2024 BB Series. Whether that counts as a second release in this line or a finish variant on the same one is a distinction our rows don't settle for you; the facts on record here concern the Black Pearl PVD edition dated 2024.
