BB1 Wide

The BB1 Wide arrived in 2024 as part of that year's BB Series, finished in Black Pearl PVD and milled with Bettinardi's Perpetual Flymill face treatment. It carries an MSRP of 450 USD. The maker's page lists the face material as 303 Stainless Steel.

Bettinardi's own product copy frames this as a reworking of the classic BB1 blade rather than a new shape entirely. The maker's page states that "RJB engineered the BB1 Wide with an improved center of gravity by taking more material from the heel while compressing the heel-to-toe length," a change the copy says also produced "a more uniform headshape allowing for simple setup and alignment." That's the core of the Wide designation within the BB1 line: same blade identity, redistributed mass.

The other headline feature the maker calls out is structural rather than cosmetic. Bettinardi's page describes the BB1 Wide as "our first production putter with a soundslot through the flange," paired with the Perpetual Flymill face to produce what the copy calls "superior audible feedback and masterful control on every putt." Combined with the Black Pearl PVD finish, that puts this release at the intersection of a familiar BB1 profile and two pieces of newer Bettinardi engineering, the reshaped CG and the soundslot, both attributed here to the maker's own account of the design.
