It ain't nearly as easy as some make it look, that is for damn sure. That's how I got my Newport Beach 34/340 from Vog. He tried his hand at stamping and then tried his hand and cleaning up the mess. It made it less desirable, but he knew how much I wanted one and he made me a silly deal. I will say, dancing letters are your friend. Head looks good and one letter off is hardly a deal killer, IMHO.
