The Wilson Staff blade line spans three marked years on record: 1951, 1969, and 1971. Each appears in our files not as a fresh design pushed out cold, but as a return. Per groups.google.com, the 1951 model was reintroduced by Wilson, described elsewhere in that same reporting as a reintroduced classic model. That same publication credits both the 1969 and 1971 editions with the identical framing, reintroduced by Wilson.

That pattern, repeating across two decades, is the shape of the line as it's been reported. Rather than a linear progression of new heads chasing new ideas, the Staff blade name seems to have been one Wilson kept bringing back, at least according to groups.google.com's account of 1951, 1969, and 1971. Whether those three years represent revivals of the same blade shape or distinct tools sharing a name is the kind of question a side by side of the three release pages will answer better than any summary here.
