The Toulon Design Indianapolis arrived in 2017 as part of the Toulon Design line, built around an X-wing style head that golfalot.com describes as constructed from 17 pieces, with a black carbon fibre crown the outlet says carries wings shaped to look like the wings on an Indy race car's nosecone. TGW.com reports the shape itself was inspired by an Indy race car, and that it was in fact the first head Toulon started working on, over two years before release, held back and launched later for strategic reasons according to that outlet.

Reviewers were largely aligned on what the Indianapolis does well. Golfalot.com called it "a good looking and well thought out design" for golfers chasing "a high MOI face balanced putter," and southpawsjourney.wordpress.com agreed the added weight and complexity "can make the golfer more stable and have more control at the putt," pointing also to the alignment line on the carbon crown as a clear plus. Against that, the Community notes flag a sound described as a little more hollow than the all-steel heads in the line, a tendency for the head to want to fall open and back at address that requires careful hand positioning, and a price that golfalot.com says runs "an extra £50 on the already pretty steep price of the other models," a premium southpawsjourney.wordpress.com frames simply as costing more than the classic San Diego.
