Futura X X7M Dual Balance

The X7M Dual Balance arrived in 2016 as part of the Futura X family, and its name tells most of the story: this is the mallet built around counterbalancing rather than around it being an afterthought. Scotty Cameron's page describes it plainly as built for players "seeking the ultimate in easy alignment, stability and forgiveness," and the spec sheet backs that framing up at every point. The head is 303 stainless steel with 6061 aircraft aluminum face sole technology, carrying 2 x 15 gram weights, and the maker's page details the counterbalancing scheme directly: 50 grams of extra weight inside the head paired with another 50 grams at the grip end of the shaft, a combination the maker calls the "tour player-preferred weight combination" meant "to slow down and stabilize the butt end of the shaft."

Shipping at 38 inches with a Matador Midsize grip and full shaft offset, the X7M Dual Balance was built long and heavy by design, not as an accident of fitting. Custom ordering allowed for half-inch length adjustments between 36 and 40 inches on either right or left hand builds, with loft adjustable a degree in either direction from its stock 3.5 degrees and lie adjustable two degrees either way from its stock 70 degrees. That range suggests a putter meant to be dialed in rather than bought off the rack as-is.

Within the Futura X line, the alignment approach is where this release distinguishes itself.
