Studio Select

The Studio Select line arrived in 2008 as a replacement for the Studio Style family, and the maker's page is direct about what changed with it: "For 2008, Scotty's Studio Select putter line replaced the Studio Style family with a completely milled design, all-new graphics, and a wide range of weighting and length options to accommodate a wider range of players." That's a full-line reset, not a running update, and it's the frame for everything else in the family.

The Newport head from this release carries the specifics that define it on record: 4° loft, 71° lie, offered in 33", 34", and 35" lengths, milled from precision 303 stainless steel, with full shaft offset. The maker describes the design intent plainly, pointing to "its high toe profile aiding in a correct setup at address and its plumbing neck providing a full shaft of offset," and calls the result "Scottys definition of a high-performance putter." Custom lie adjustment of plus or minus 2°, along with black or red Studio Design and Baby T grip options, round out how the model shipped.

The shaft band tied to this release is worth noting on its own: it's built to include "the length, loft and lie of a particular model for easy reference," a small but functional piece of the package rather than pure decoration. Studio Select now sits on Scotty Cameron's own archive as an Archival Product, dated to 2008, with the Newport as one head within a family that also included other profiles under the same design overhaul.
