Phantom X 12

The Phantom X 12 shipped in 2019 as the largest head in the Phantom X range, and by most accounts the highest MOI model in the line. Golfalot.com described the shape as basically a 7 with rear wings to draw the weight back and out to the corners to increase the MOI, and called it face balanced, with a mid-bend shaft that the publication says is the only shaft option offered on this head to keep it face balanced. Pluggedingolf.com framed the design plainly: there's no magic dust here, if you want massive forgiveness, you need to choose a massive putter.

On spec, Scotty Cameron lists the 12 at 3.5º of loft and 70º of lie, with one shaft offset and a Pistolero Plus grip. It shipped in 33, 34, and 35 inch lengths, with custom loft adjustable from -1º to +1º and custom lengths available in half inch increments for both right and left handed builds. Weighting scaled by length, 2x20 grams at 33 inches, 2x15 grams at 34 inches, and 2x10 grams at 35 inches. The maker's page lists the head material as 303 stainless steel with a solid 6061 aircraft aluminum face, in one listing described as wings around that same face and core construction. Golfalot.com noted a misted black finish on the review unit.

Reviewers were split on how the size translated to feel. Pluggedingolf.com came away impressed with the forgiveness that head size bought. Golfalot.com liked how it looked but found the sound a little thin and high pitched, adding that given the shape and gaps in the larger head, that's not really a surprise. Pluggedingolf.com's notes also refer to this as a previous generation model, which is worth flagging as a publication's own framing rather than a dated claim from Cameron itself.
