B3 Triple Black Design Newport 2 Long Neck

The 2024 B3 Triple Black Design Newport 2 Long Neck revives a neck configuration Scotty Cameron's own page says he pioneered over 25 years ago. According to the maker, positioning the hosel higher due to the longer neck moves the shaft axis intersection with the topline toward the center, producing less toe hang for golfers with a straighter-back, straighter-through stroke, while the head shape is described as based on today's Super Select Newport 2. It's a blade in familiar clothing, built for a different stroke pattern than the standard-neck Newport 2 typically serves.

The specs on record place it at 3.5º loft, 70º lie, in 33, 34, and 35 inch lengths, milled from 303 stainless steel with full shaft offset and low toe flow. Sole weights scale down as length goes up, 40 grams at 33 inches, 35 grams at 34, and 30 grams at 35, and the maker offers custom loft and lie adjustment ranges of plus or minus one and two degrees respectively, along with half inch custom length increments.

True to its name, the finish work is where this release makes its case. The maker's page describes a black finish, black shaft, and black Pistolini Plus grip, with the familiar milled triple cavity dots accented in translucent smoke paintfill and a dual-milled face texture. One capture of the maker's page notes the Tour Black finish itself as a PVD treatment applied to the 303 stainless steel head after the topline and back have been manually misted. Within the Long Neck line, this is a design exercise in surface and color as much as geometry, dressing a rarely made neck style in a uniformly dark palette.
