The Long Design line carries two entries on record: the Studio Style edition and the Squareback 2 Long Design, the latter dated to 2024 on Scotty Cameron's own archive page. The through-line across both is length and weight, built deliberately beyond standard dimensions to change how the putter is swung rather than simply how it looks.

Cameron's page for the 2024 Squareback 2 Long Design describes a 38-inch putter with a solid stainless steel face and an integrated aluminum sole plate, built to carry more weight in the perimeter for higher MOI. The head is loaded with two 25-gram tungsten sole weights and counterbalanced by a custom pistol-style grip matched to a longer, stiffer shaft, all in service of quieting the hands and putting more of the work on the shoulders. That stated purpose, a longer and heavier build meant to smooth out the stroke, is the design thesis for the whole line, not just the one release.

Outside reviewers have picked up on that same idea. outtabounds.co.uk called the category a route for golfers wanting more built-in stability, and elsewhere described the construction plainly as longer, heavier. Their assessment of the feel on the green was mixed: they wrote that the putters are not for everyone, but that the longer, heavier construction can make the stroke feel smoother and more shoulder-led. That's a notable point of agreement with the maker's own stated intent, arrived at independently by a reviewer with the putter in hand rather than from the spec page.

Across its two recorded releases, the Long Design line reads less like a single product refresh and more like a standing answer to a specific problem: hands that get too active in the stroke. Whether that answer suits a given golfer is, by the reviewer's own account, not a settled question.
