Heavy Flange

The Heavy Flange enters the record in 2005, as part of the American Classics III family. Scotty Cameron's own page describes it as "classically elegant and made to perform utilizing new metals with innovative milling techniques," and the specs on file back that framing up: a 33 inch length paired with a 350G headweight, built for players wanting a shorter putter that still performs at that length.

The construction details point to a deliberate, considered design rather than a simple retread of a blade shape. The head is milled from a billet of soft 303 stainless steel, with two copper weight inlays set into the sole to enlarge the sweet spot and balance the head between heel and toe. Cameron's page notes the toe and heel were thinned for "a sleek profile," and the neck carries a 1/2 shaft offset described as something that "dramatically enhances the setup position." A sight dot sits on top for a focus point, finished in a non-glare stainless mist.

The finishing touches carry through to the accessories: an American Classic headcover and a burgundy, hand wrapped, hand rubbed leather grip imported from Australia, matching the hand-wrapped, hand-rubbed leather grip listed in the specifications. Loft is set at 4 degrees and lie at 71 degrees, numbers consistent with the shorter 33 inch build the head was designed around.
