Futura Long

The 2004 Futura Long is the belly and long-putter reading of Scotty Cameron's original Futura shape, built out to 48 inches with the specs to match. Where the standard Futura addressed a conventional stroke, this version is a different tool entirely: a 470 gram head paired with 79 degrees of lie and 4 degrees of loft, numbers that put the geometry of the putter in service of an anchored or near-anchored setup rather than a stock length stroke. The two red sightlines running the full length of the body carry over from the Futura's alignment approach, scaled up so the eye still has a clear line to work with at that length.

The round, red Baby T grip and the straight, center-shaft neck are the pieces that mark this out as a long putter specifically, not just a lengthened version of the standard model. A center-shaft design at 48 inches changes how the putter hangs and swings compared to a heel-shafted head, and the choice to keep it straight rather than offset suggests the head was built around that longer, more pendulum-like action from the start rather than adapted to it.

Set against the rest of the Futura line as later documented by Cameron's own site, this 2004 Long sits apart from the multi-material, high-MOI mallets that would define the Futura name from 2017 onward, the 5CB, 5MB, 5W, and the rest. Those later releases are built around aluminum-and-steel construction and heel-and-toe sole weighting for forgiveness. The 2004 Long predates that shift and reads instead as an early, single-purpose variant, a Futura head reworked for length rather than for MOI.
