Futura 5CB

The Futura 5CB arrived in 2017 as one entry in Scotty Cameron's Futura lineup, which the maker describes as a cohesive lineup of tour-proven shapes and configurations alongside the 5MB, 5W, 5S, 6M, 6M Dual Balance, and 7M. Where much of the Futura family leans on alignment aids, the 5CB is noted on record as an exception, built without the dual-purpose alignment rail system found elsewhere in the line.

The maker's own page calls it a sleek, rounded cavity back mid-mallet, with a curvy, machined aluminum flange plate anodized black, and describes it as a multi-material putter worthy of the term finely milled. That multi-material build pairs a 303 stainless steel body with a 6061 aircraft aluminum face and sole, a combination Scotty Cameron says lets heavier steel and lighter aluminum work together to push weight back and to the perimeter for added MOI. On spec, the 5CB carries 3.5 degrees of loft and 70 degrees of lie, offered in 33, 34, and 35 inch lengths with full shaft offset. Sole weighting runs 2x20 grams at 33 inches, 2x15 grams at 34, and 2x10 grams at 35, which the maker ties to its heel-and-toe weighting approach, keeping balance and feel consistent as length changes. It shipped with a Black Matador Midsize 11 inch grip, and Scotty Cameron's custom shop offered the usual range of loft, lie, and length adjustments for buyers who wanted it dialed further.
