Special Select Flowback 5.5

The Special Select Flowback 5.5 shipped in 2020 as the mid-mallet partner in the Special Select line, built from 303 stainless steel with a fully milled, insert-free face. The maker's page describes a refined three red dot cherry ring back cavity design carried over into a slantback neck with nearly one shaft of offset, and cites enhanced toe flow along with a higher MOI for the head. Carlsgolfland's listing rounds that out with a thinner topline compared to the Flowback 5, near maximum toe hang, and a 6061 aluminum sole plate integrated into the head, all details that point toward a putter built for stability over the standard Flowback profile.

The 5.5 sits directly alongside the Flowback 5 in the same release. Scotty Cameron's own page notes it carries the same refined, classically rounded profile as its Flowback 5 partner, with the thinner topline and near maximum toe hang cited by Carlsgolfland marking the practical difference between the two heads. Spec-wise it was offered in 33, 34, and 35 inch lengths with custom loft and lie adjustment ranges of -1 to +1 degrees and -2 to +2 degrees respectively, stock loft of 3.5 degrees and lie of 70 degrees, and stainless steel sole weights scaled by length, 20 grams at 33 inches down to 10 grams at 35. It came stock with a Pistolini Plus grip in RH only per Carlsgolfland's listing.

On the maker's own reckoning, the Special Select Flowback 5.5 has since given way to the Super Select line as its current equivalent, placing this release as a fixed point in the Special Select run rather than an ongoing model.
