Teryllium T22 Fastback 1.5

The Teryllium T22 Fastback 1.5 arrived in 2019 as, per the maker's page, the first Fastback 1.5 designed with a Teryllium insert, pairing that insert with 303 stainless steel in the head. The maker's page lists a familiar black, white and gold color scheme and 'domino pattern' in the back cavity, finished in a tactical matte black with a unique bead blast, metallic gold and white paintfill. PGA Tour's reporting frames the insert as a step forward in feel, describing improved vibration dampening and noting the head weight increased compared to the original TeI3, though that comparison sits with the publication rather than the maker.

The build carries the Fastback 1.5's usual bones: a Tour-preferred mini-slant neck, one shaft of offset, a thinner topline similar to the Select line's Fastback, and improved four-way sole balancing for a square setup, with two customizable stainless steel heel-toe sole weights, 15 grams in the 34 inch and 10 grams in the 35 inch. Loft sits at 3.5º, lie at 70º, and it shipped on stepless steel shafts with a black Pistolini Plus grip finished in copper paintfill, a grip PGA Tour's write-up describes as thicker in the lower hand with less taper.

Golfalot and PGA Tour both point to the Teryllium insert as the headline change against the rest of the Fastback 1.5 line, and PGA Tour lists this as a limited release with an MSRP of 599 USD, availability the maker's page dates to August 16, 2019 at Titleist authorized golf shops. Against other Fastback 1.5 releases, the shape and setup carry over largely unchanged, with the insert material and finish doing the work of setting this one apart.
