Del Mar 3

The Del Mar 3 followed the original Del Mar and the Teryllium-era Del Mar 2 in Scotty Cameron's Classics lineage. According to golfheritage.org, the Del Mar 3 introduced a mid-mallet head, consistent with the mid-mallet character golfheritage.org attributes to it directly.

Community sentiment on the Del Mar 3 has been unfavorable relative to other Classics-era releases. golfheritage.org states plainly that "Overall, the Catalina, Del Mar, Coronado and Laguna attract the least interest from collectors," grouping the Del Mar 3 among the family's less sought-after models. That view is echoed elsewhere in the Community, where the Del Mar 3 is likewise criticized for drawing the least collector interest of its peers.

The earlier Del Mar and Del Mar 2 entries on Scotty Cameron's own archive pages describe a smaller, face-balanced mallet with clean lines, and later a heel/toe weighted mid-mallet with a Newport hosel and Teryllium inlay. Where the Del Mar 3 sits against those design choices is not something the maker's own prose in front of us addresses, but golfheritage.org's characterization of it as a mid-mallet keeps it within the family's established shape language.
