The Del Mar 2 Teryllium 2 sits in Scotty Cameron's 1997 archive as a heel/toe weighted, mid-mallet putter built around the Newport hosel, giving it 1/4 toe hang and what the maker's page calls "optimal toe flow." That 1997 listing describes three white sightlines for alignment and specs the head at 4° loft, 71° lie, and 35" length.

The defining feature is the material, not the shape. The maker's page describes an inlay of "a 12-metal alloy, teryllium" that "creates a distinctly soft feel and solid feedback, while an injected elastomer membrane dampens vibration." That combination of a dense alloy face insert and a dampening membrane underneath is the throughline for every Del Mar 2 in the Teryllium era, and this 1997 release is the version that carries the original Newport-hosel geometry before the line shifted to the mid-slant neck.

That shift shows up clearly when this release is set against its immediate successor. The 1999 Del Mar 2 Mid Slant page uses nearly identical language for the head and material, but drops the toe-hang figure and neck description. By 2001, the maker's own copy reframes the design outright, calling it a "traditional mid-mallet design" with a mid-slant that "affords a clean view of the ball and creates less tow flow" (sic), backed by "a deep back flange." Community sourcing on YouTube has tagged the TeI3 itself with that same mid-slant, less-toe-flow neck description, though that attribution is the publication's characterization rather than anything on the maker's own 1997 page, which is silent on neck style and simply calls out the Newport hosel and its toe hang.
