The Ping ZB3 line on our record begins and ends, so far, with the 2020 Heppler ZB3, part of Ping's Heppler family released that year. Whatever came before or after the name in Ping's broader catalog is not something we hold rows for here, so the arc we can trace is a single point rather than a lineage across seasons.

That single release drew attention for its shape. TGW called it a blade, while Plugged in Golf described it under the banner of timeless design, the same phrase it used for the putter's overall design language. Ping is reported by TGW to have built the head with a solid milled steel face and a contrasting copper and black finish. Mygolfway.com listed an MSRP of 299 EUR. None of this comes from Ping's own materials in what we hold, so it stands as editorial reporting rather than confirmed spec.

Golf Monthly tested the ZB3 alongside the larger Tomcat 14 and came away favorable toward both, writing that the two putters represented two ends of the spectrum in terms of size, and really liked them both. That is one outlet's read on the putter in play, set against a design pitch that leaned on tradition rather than novelty, and the two accounts sit comfortably together rather than in tension.
