Heppler Tomcat 14

The Tomcat 14 is the mallet at the top of Ping's Heppler line, released in 2020. TGW.com described it as a mallet cast from aluminum in the head, and the design is consistently reported as large: pluggedingolf.com called it a giant mallet with very high MOI and substantial alignment aids, noting thick "wings" at the far corners and plenty of open space. Golfalot.com, mygolfway.com, and pluggedingolf.com all reported that it carries the highest MOI in the Heppler range, though these figures come from the outlets themselves rather than from Ping.

The name comes from its alignment system. Golfalot.com and pluggedingolf.com both reported that the head carries 14 dots inspired by airport runway lights, with golfalot.com adding that the dots get closer together moving backward in the head to simulate motion. Golfmonthly.com described the same feature as two rows of dots that get closer together as they move away from the face, and while its reviewer liked the sense of the putter being in motion at address and found alignment easy, they also felt two sightlines would arguably have been more effective. Golfalot.com's reviewer landed elsewhere, finding the Tomcat 14 gave plenty of confidence, particularly on left to right and straight putts, where the dots made it easy to line up and commit to the stroke.

On feel, pluggedingolf.com placed the aluminum-faced Tomcat 14 as slightly thinner than the Anser 2 but not hugely different, firmer on longer putts, with feedback delivered primarily through the hands, and the same reviewer called it one of their favorite feeling aluminum-faced putters. Reported pricing varies by market and outlet: golfalot.com listed £275 GBP, mygolfway.com listed 329 EUR, and pluggedingolf.com put it between $235 and $270 USD. Golfalot.com also reported an adjustable-length shaft in black chrome, running from 32 to 36 inches.
