Three release rows carry the name, the 2023 Shea Putter, the Ping Shea (2023) series listing, and the PING 2023 Shea Putter w/ PP58 Grip, all pointing to the same mid-mallet design with a shallow milled face and a platinum topline set against a black cavity. There's no earlier Shea on our books and no later one either. What we hold is a single release year, documented three different ways.

The head itself is verified at 360 grams with 3 degrees of loft (carlsgolfland.com lists it plainly at 3 degrees, while 2ndswing.com gives it as 3° with a +3°/-2° range, worth noting since the two don't phrase it identically), built for a Slight Arc stroke. The maker's page for the line describes it as a straight-taper, midsized pistol grip design, "larger flat surfaces for increased face awareness," with a 17 inch grip built heavier than standard to act as a counterweight. The tungsten toe-heel weighting and shallow milled face show up across every row we have, along with the platinum-and-black cosmetic treatment that reviewers kept circling back to.

On the reception side, the notices line up more than they diverge. 2ndswing.com called out consistent ball speeds, pleasing feel, and a clean appearance. golfsupport.com's review praised high forgiveness and credited the tungsten toe-heel weights with keeping the ball on track "even during mistrikes," while also noting a firmer feel than the average putter and solid, clicking acoustics. That firmness note is worth sitting with alongside the "pleasing feel" language elsewhere. Both can be true of the same putter depending on what a reviewer is comparing it against, and the Record isn't in the business of picking a winner between them.

What's on file, then, is a tight, single-year line rather than a lineage stretched across generations: one head shape, three ways of cataloguing it, and a grip and weighting package the maker built around stability and setup consistency. Whether the PP58 grip variant reads as a meaningfully different putter than the base release, or simply a different way of packaging the same head, is a question the reader can settle by putting one in hand.
