The 2023 Mundy putter is one of Ping's releases within the Mundy line, and the record on it is thin. Ping's own site, as reported by ping.com, lists this edition's availability as Limited Availability, though that figure comes from the maker's page rather than any independent verification.

What we do hold, straight from Ping's own product prose, describes a grip-driven design rather than a head shape story. The maker's page speaks of a "straight-taper, midsized pistol with larger flat surfaces for increased face awareness," and separately of a "midsize pistol-shaped design with a rubber under-listing" that also aims at "increased face awareness." The copy details two grip options built into the release: a 17" grip that Ping calls "heavier than a standard grip to act as a counterweight for more stability and control throughout the stroke, and has a tacky feel," alongside a 21" grip with "a longer profile to provide multiple hand-placement options," finished in what Ping describes as "comfortable, tacky Excel polymer" that "uses multiple tread patterns for accentuating feel."

Against its own line, this 2023 edition reads as a setup-and-feel proposition more than a milling or face-technology story, with Ping's language leaning on "designated markings" to help golfers "establish a consistent, confident setup over every putt" and on the pistol shape being "designed to make it easier to square the face at impact." Whether that grip-forward approach and the limited availability Ping reports are enough to distinguish this release within the Mundy line is a determination best left to the golfer holding one.
