Ping's GEN2 line, according to Colorado AvidGolfer, is built around customization rather than a single fixed head. The publication describes eight head shapes offered across three hosel configurations, letting a golfer choose a face-balanced setup or varying degrees of toe-hang to suit their stroke. Heads are reported as milled from 303 stainless steel and aircraft-grade aluminum, finished in either black or chrome.

The face itself carries a variable-sized pyramid pattern, described by the publication as tightly packed toward the center and spaced further apart toward the heel and toe, presumably to manage feel and roll differently across the face. Weighting is handled through sole ports that can house either heavy tungsten or lighter titanium weights, giving a fitter another axis to adjust beyond shape and hosel. Taken together, the GEN2 reads as Ping's attempt to let a single family of putters cover a wide fitting range through interchangeable shapes, hosels, and sole weights rather than through one dominant profile.
