The Ping Doon line, as our record holds it, runs across two releases: the Doon Sigma G of 2017 and the Doon that carries the name on its own. The Sigma G edition introduced a counterbalanced build, and it's the detail that shows up again and again in third-party reporting. pluggedingolf.com described it as a counter balanced model with 130 gram, 17" grip, and both mygolfway.com and pluggedingolf.com listed the counterbalanced design as a defining trait of the release. tgw.com's own listing called it, simply, a counterbalanced model.

The plain Doon carries forward that same grip specification. pluggedingolf.com again noted a 130 gram, 17" grip built for the counterbalanced version, and separately described the putter as a silver mallet. That same outlet also weighed in on feel, calling it firmer than in the Anser or Piper, a comparison that places the Doon in conversation with two other lines in Ping's stable rather than off on its own.

On the question of feel and sound, the reviewers who handled the Doon largely agree, even if they describe it in different terms. One Community note praised a stable head and a unique metallic sound. Another, on pluggedingolf.com, put it more specifically: though the head feels incredibly stable, I was still able to sense mishits in my hands. That's a useful tension to sit with, a putter stable enough to earn praise for its composure, yet still transparent enough at impact that a mishit doesn't disappear into the stability. pluggedingolf.com's own listing priced the Sigma G edition at $220, though that figure, like the rest, comes from the publication and not from Ping's own materials.
