Golfalot's review of the B65 Heavy put the added weight at around 25 grams to the head, and described the putter as face balanced with a straight stroke. The outlet also noted a black grip, from the Golf Pride Ping Cadence PP58 mid size line, chosen to match the black insert, and reported that despite the added mass this version carries the same weight as the blue version.

Where the line's single entry draws its opinion is on sound and feel. Reviewers who tried the Heavy alongside the standard blue insert described a deeper, more solid sound out of the black steel insert, and credited the added weight with helping distance control even as it slowed down a faster stroke tempo. Golfalot's own reviewer landed in the same place, writing that the sound from the black Heavy steel insert was a bit deeper and more solid than the blue version and probably for me I preferred the Heavy version for that reason.
