The R-Line's record on file begins and ends in one place: the O-Works edition of 2017. There's no earlier release behind it and nothing carrying the name forward, so as it stands the line is a single entry rather than a lineage with turns and generations to trace.

What's on record for that 2017 release comes entirely from outside reporting rather than from Odyssey's own pages or our bench. TGW.com described it as a mid-sized mallet design, and separately called out its balance as face-balanced and its recommended fit as a straight back, straight through putting stroke. Mygolfway.com and hagginoaks.com each independently filed it under the mallet category and mallet shape respectively, agreement across outlets on the broad strokes even if none of it carries a maker or verified tag.

Because the line consists of the one dated release, there isn't a second era or a redesign to set against the first. The R-Line as we hold it is the O-Works version of 2017: a face-balanced mid-sized mallet, per the trade press, aimed at players with a straight-back-straight-through stroke, and nothing else yet on the books to compare it to.
