The Odyssey ProType line, at least as our record holds it, begins and ends in one year: 2012, with the Tour Series release. There's no earlier or later entry in this line to trace a longer arc against, so what we have is a single moment: a forged-milled putter line built, by Odyssey's own account elsewhere, out of Tour player feedback, arriving with a clean, one-piece look that drew immediate attention.

Reception at that single point was warm. Golf press coverage at the time, per prnewswire.com, noted that "the clean look and one-piece construction was also something that players really liked and wanted to see in this type of product." Intheholegolf.com was shorter and blunter about it, calling the release "Like No Other." Community-adjacent editorial notes echoed the same themes, praising the clean look, the one-piece build, and a feel players considered improved.

Golfmonthly.com's reporting on the release describes a "Headweight Optimisation" approach to balance, and prnewswire.com's coverage also details customization on offer, six colors for grip and head paint fill, at a reported $30 additional. These are publication accounts of the 2012 release rather than claims we've verified ourselves, but they round out the picture of what reviewers were responding to: a putter built to look finished and unified, with room for the buyer to personalize it.

As it stands, the ProType Tour Series of 2012 is the whole of the line on our record. There's no second or third release here to show a turn, a rebuild, or a quiet fade. What we hold is one year's putter, well liked in the press that covered it, and nothing yet to say about what came before or after.
