The Record

Written from the sources it cites · machine-drafted for the Community to correct

The 2017 O-Works line brought Odyssey's Microhinge insert to the '17 edition, with a black and white Versa alignment theme that golfalot.com describes as integrated across a range starting with the #1 2-Ball and extending to nine other models including the #7. The finish is reported by golfalot.com as silver and black against a black background, with the sole carrying black finish and red detailing around 15g weights. The insert itself is described by golfalot.com as an arrangement of upside down L shaped stainless steel hinges embedded into a Thermoplastic Elastomer Feel Layer.

Odyssey's own blog pointed to Golf Magazine's Club Test results for the O-Works V-Line Fang, which the maker cites as praising the putter's impact feel as among the best in the test, its distance control as predictable across lengths, and its face technology for producing a smooth, consistent roll through the flexing micro hinges at impact. Community opinion on the '17 line elsewhere has called it the closest feel to a steel face putter, with praise for a better rolling face and the silver and black look. golfalot.com's own review went further, calling the insert one of the best the reviewer has used and predicting it would be remembered alongside Odyssey classics like the Stronomic and White Hot.

golfalot.com also reports a spin effect of 70 rpm of topspin imparted at impact, and notes that Phil Mickelson used a blacked out version of the putter during the 2016 Ryder Cup, ahead of this release. Grip options are reported as premium SuperStroke Counter Core grips and the Pistol GT Tour. Within the O-Works line, the '17 edition sits as the version built around the Microhinge insert and the Versa alignment system, the combination that both Odyssey's own citation of Golf Magazine and outside reviewers point to as the putter's defining feature.

What people praise
closest feel to a steel face putter better rolling face great look with silver and black finish quality feel grip
I would go so far as to say that this is one of the best putter inserts I have used and I confidently predict that it will stand the test of time and be looked back open as being as successful as some of the Odyssey classics like the Stronomic and the White Hot.
