White Hot OG #5

The White Hot OG #5 is a half moon head, described by golfalot.com as slightly more compact than Odyssey's Rossie shape, finished in what the publication called a rich silver PVD finish. Golfalot.com lists finely milled surfaces on the head and a black line down the top as the alignment feature, with the White Hot insert built back in, which the publication noted as bringing back the insert of 20 years ago. According to golfalot.com, it shipped in 33, 34 and 35 inch lengths, with a steel or Stroke Lab shaft option and either an Odyssey DFX or Stroke Lab Oversize grip. Golfalot.com reported an MSRP of £199, with the Stroke Lab shaft carrying a further £50 upgrade. The publication's own test putter ran a Stroke Lab shaft at 35 inches with the DFX grip.

Opinion on the #5 was mixed. One review praised the same dependable feel off the face that the White Hot line is known for, and called the Stroke Lab shaft a great addition that helps frame and align the ball, while flagging the price against the original White Hot putters as something that will put a lot of golfers off. Golfalot.com's own take cut the other way on stroke path, writing that the #5 seemed to want to close the face when struck more towards the toe, whilst I felt as if it was better suited to more of an arced stroke than the 2-Ball. That's a real split in how the head behaved off-center, and it's worth weighing both sides rather than one.
