On our record, the Odyssey #5 line has exactly one entry: the White Hot OG #5, released in 2021 as part of the White Hot OG family. There is no earlier arc to trace here, no prior generation to compare against. The line, as we hold it, begins and currently ends with this half moon shaped head, carrying the White Hot insert that has defined the family's feel for years.

What reviewers found in that single release does show some pull in different directions. The putter drew praise for the same dependable feel off the face, with golfalot.com specifically calling out that dependable feel as a positive. The Stroke Lab shaft option was singled out as a strong addition, and the face framing and alignment, built into the cast shape itself, won favor as well. Golfalot.com's own reporting adds detail here, describing a rich silver PVD finish, a black line on the head for alignment, and a choice between the Odyssey DFX or Stroke Lab Oversize grip.

Not every note was favorable. Reviewers flagged the price against the original White Hot putters as a real sticking point, one likely to put off a portion of golfers who remember what came before. There was also a technical complaint: the putter seemed to want to close the face when struck more toward the toe, a criticism that speaks to the shape's forgiveness, or lack of it, off center.

With only one release on the books, the #5 name in Odyssey's catalog reads less like a lineage and more like a single, well documented chapter, defined by that White Hot insert and cast head shape, and judged so far on its own terms rather than against siblings that don't yet exist on our record.
