The Record

Written from the sources it cites · machine-drafted for the Community to correct

The Method 002 runs across three entries on record, a 2009 release under the Method edition, a 2010 follow-up, and an undated Method edition listing. The shape stayed consistent through the line: putterzone.com described it, both in 2009 and again in 2010, as a heel-shafted blade, and best-putter.com placed the head in the family of a Ping Zing, calling the overall design a blend of Anser and Zing shapes.

The 2010 release is where the record holds the most detail. golfbluebook.com described a face built around Polymetal Groove Technology, said to start the ball on a forward spin faster than a standard milled steel face or a polymer insert, paired with a flow-through low durometer polymer insert meant to soften impact while the milled steel face kept audible feedback for distance control. The same source reported 30 grams of internal weight shifted from the face and body out to the perimeter for higher MOI, and listed an MSRP of $299.99 USD.

Reception was mixed and split along similar lines across sources. Best-putter.com called it a simple, no-frills look with a good roll, but flagged the high price tag, and noted that a couple of tour pros dabbled with the 002 while fewer picked it up than had picked up the Method 001. Other notes in the record echo that same tension, the plain-blade look and roll drawing praise, the price and thinner tour presence drawing criticism, with no source resolving the gap between what the putter did on the green and what it cost to find out.

Most similar to a Ping Zing shape, this putter has a simple no-frills look, a good roll, but a high price tag.
