M.CRAFT IV

The M.CRAFT IV arrived in 2021 as the fourth entry in Mizuno's M.CRAFT line, built around a 355 gram head milled from 1025 mild carbon steel, per the maker's page, with CNC milling and a KBS Tour shaft. It shipped in three finish options: Classic White Satin, bold Blue ION, and intense Black ION. The stock grip is a Lamkin Deep Etched Full Blue cord grip, and it comes with a premium patch M.CRAFT headcover. Mizuno's page also lists a weight kit with two 3 gram and two 13 gram weights, interchangeable with the fitted 8 gram weights, giving the putter some fitting range beyond stock trim.

Golf.com reported an MSRP of $299.95, close to Mizuno's own figure of $299 domestically, and put availability at February 21, though that date comes from the outlet rather than the maker. TGW.com's reporting on the model diverges from the maker's page in a few places worth flagging rather than smoothing over: TGW lists the head weight at 371 grams against Mizuno's stated 355, and its coverage cycles through several head shape and toe-hang descriptions, from a square back blade to a face-balanced winged mallet, and from maximum to medium toe hang, suggesting either a broader family of shapes under the M.CRAFT IV name or some inconsistency in how the outlet catalogued the line.

Community and press reaction to the release itself has been split on the thing Mizuno putters are supposed to deliver above all else. Thehackersparadise.com called it a really nice putter with an amazing blue finish. Golfalot.com was more measured, allowing that it's a nice putter while wishing there were a little more of that famous Mizuno feel to make it a real contender among the best on the market. That tension, sharp looks against a feel some found short of Mizuno's reputation, is the throughline on this release.
