Classic Collection

The Cleveland Golf Classic Collection runs four releases on record: the original Classic Collection, the Platinum, the Black Platinum, and a Women's Platinum. Theaposition.com reported that the Platinum was introduced last October, with the Black Platinum and Women's Platinum following as the line's finish and audience were broadened out from that base.

The original Classic Collection drew criticism in the Community for audible harshness even with aggressive milling, along with an awkward block-font "face milled" engraving on the face. Thehackersparadise.com's construction notes list the face material as 17-4 stainless steel, but the same outlet's later commentary on the Platinum edition called it astronomically better than in the Classic Collection in that regard, a contrast the record preserves rather than settles.

The Platinum and Black Platinum share a reported shape: theaposition.com described both as hand-polished stainless steel with heel-toe weighting and a milled face said to impart a responsive and yet soft feel, each carrying a reported $79.99 msrp. The difference the outlet drew between them was cosmetic, a platinum finish on one against a black platinum finish on the other, which theaposition.com said totally takes out any possibility of glare. The Women's Platinum carried the platinum finish forward again, with theaposition.com noting it as a women's line entry rather than detailing further construction.

Taken across its four releases, the line's arc as reported runs from a debut that drew complaints about feel and engraving toward a Platinum era that at least one outlet found meaningfully improved, then outward into a Black Platinum finish variant and a Women's Platinum edition built on the same reported platform.
