Artist Series

The Bobby Grace Artist Series lives, at least on our record, as a single documented release: the HSM edition from the Tour Shop line, numbered 1 of 3, dated to 2009. It's a small window into what appears to be a broader, ongoing handmade line, but our own files hold only this one entry with any depth.

Bobby Grace's maker page frames the Artist Series as an outgrowth of the shop's handmade tradition, milled from 303 stainless steel with welded hosels of the buyer's choice, and the copy leans hard on tour pedigree, invoking the Fat Lady Swings putter and Ross McGowan's 2009 Madrid Masters win as proof the shop's designs still perform at the top level. Later catalog language, captured in 2012, shows the line continuing under the Artist Series name with pieces like "The Cross Bow," described as part of "the 2012 Handmade Artist Series" and built around a forged Damascus steel radial face insert, with the maker offering buyers a choice between that insert, a stainless steel insert, or a Multi Rebound Radial (MRR) insert at different price points. That 2012 release isn't part of our release rows here, but the maker's own prose puts the Artist Series name in continuous use across at least those years.

On the 2009 HSM piece specifically, thehackersparadise.com reported a run of details worth noting as one outlet's account rather than settled fact: HSM letters molded into the face, an insert described both as "HSM" and spelled out as "Hole Seeking Material," and an insert technology pitched as co-molded higher rebounds away from the sweet spot. The same source numbered it 1 of 3. Reviewer reaction to that putter, per the same outlet, ran toward reluctance to let it go, with an opinion praising its unique look and a feel described as soft yet responsive with good feedback on each stroke.
