The Queen B 5 line, as our records hold it, is a single release: the 2019-2020 edition. Bettinardi's own page describes it as roughly 12% smaller than the traditional BB1 head shape, precision-milled to a 362-gram head weight, and finished with the maker's trademark Micro Honeycomb Face Milling. The five frosted swarming bees on the sole were hand-painted, marking it out visually from the rest of the Queen B family even before you get to the finish work.

The 2019 launch itself carried a notable wrinkle. Bettinardi's page for the blackout version states the maker offered the line "murdered out with a very special black PVD finish, nearly two months early before our January 19 product launch." That blackout edition paired a black Lamkin Deep Etched Cord Grip with a black chrome shaft and a matching Made in USA headcover, a distinct companion release to whatever standard finish accompanied the January date.

On design, the maker's page notes the Queen B 5 arrived with cleaner lines, tighter milled radiuses, and softer bumpers, a refinement of the silhouette rather than a wholesale departure from it. Bettinardi's own language leans hard into the putter's standing within the Queen B family, calling it "one of the more sought-after blades Robert Bettinardi has ever produced," a line repeated verbatim across multiple captures of the product page over the years, suggesting the maker has kept that framing consistent well after the original launch window closed.

With only the one release on record, the Queen B 5's arc is less a lineage across eras than a single, tightly documented moment: a smaller-format blade dressed twice, once in whatever finish met its January 19 launch, and once early and murdered out in black PVD for those who wanted the darker version first.
