The BB46 arrived in 2022 as part of Bettinardi's BB Series, and the maker's page is direct about its place in that year's lineup: "Our BB46, the only mallet from our 2022 BB Series." Everything else in the run was a blade, which makes the BB46 the odd shape out in its own class year, and the one release on record here.

Its most visible life on record comes through the Studio B Reserve treatment, an Ancient Greece run that dressed the head in a Mother of Pearl topline inlay and a Distressed Slate finish, with the maker's page describing wordmarks on the face and sole and a Hex B in the pocket drawing on Greek lettering. That same run also shows the BB46 cycling through more than one face option rather than settling on a single milling. One listing puts it on a FIT over Flymill face at 348 grams, face-balanced, and paired with a Spud neck reference elsewhere that leans it near-face-balanced. Another version swaps in a plain Flymill face, described as a blend of feedback and softness. A third goes to a Micro Honeycomb face for a firmer feel. Each of these carries the same inlay, finish, grip, and headcover treatment, so the differences sit entirely in the face milling and the resulting feel.

Bettinardi's own copy frames the BB46 less as a single fixed putter and more as a head that returns, reappears, and gets reworked within its Reserve lineage, "The BB46 makes a comeback in this Studio B Reserve batch" is how one listing puts it, language that treats the head as an ongoing project rather than a one-off drop. With only one release on record, the BB46's arc so far is really the arc of one shape tried across a few faces within the same year, a mallet finding its footing inside a series otherwise built around blades.
