Marketplace
Marketplace
Browse free, transact as verified Supporters, payments off-platform.
The idea
A putter marketplace where identity-verified people deal with each other, listings carry structured gear when possible, and Putter Talk never takes a cut of the sale. Money moves buyer to seller off-platform.
The visibility ladder
Anyone (including signed-out, when public read is on) can browse:
- Photos, price, condition, description
- Trust artifacts: feedback, sales count, member-since, seals
Below the transacting gate, seller identity (handle, contact, payment handles) stays out of the payload. That is structural, not a cosmetic hide.
Supporters who completed identity verification can list, contact sellers, and leave feedback (subject to beta grants while the market is in quiet test).
Quiet beta
If you see a "closed test" note, the market is on for a small granted group even when the global flag is off for everyone else. That is intentional.
Payments
Sellers set payment handles (for example Venmo, Cash App, Zelle) in Settings after they are allowed. Buyers should pay only the handles on the listing. Mid-deal pressure to switch methods is a scam signal: stop and report.
PayPal Goods and Services vs "friends and family" style rails have different protection tradeoffs; the UI explains them. We do not process the payment.
Proof of possession
Optional proof photos (handle + date in frame, never legal name) can be reviewed by staff. Only blessed proof wears the public badge.
Feedback
After a deal, mutual feedback may open for participants. Be honest; feedback is part of the trust record.
Terms
Marketplace terms live under Legal / Market when that door is open. Read them before listing.
