Help me identify a deceased family member's putter collection?

Hi all,

My wife's father died recently and there are a number of putters and/or covers that we are trying to identify that he had collected over many years.

Would any members here be willing to give me some information/feedback if I posted some pictures in the forum ?

Sorry, am a little new to the world of gold clubs and this particular especially.

Many thanks ..

IMG_8130 = Agusta Cover - $65-$85
IMG_8132 = Standard Hex-b cover - $35-$50
IMG_8134 = Collage - $45-$60
IMG_8137 = Old-School Blads Covers - $35-$45
IMG_8139 = 2009 (I think) Social (invite-only party at Bettinardi) $55-$75
IMG_8140 = Another Old-School Blade Cover = $35-$45
IMG_8144 = 2006 Ryder Cup = $75-$85
IMG_8142 = Looks to be for a private club. He does those on occasion. $45-$55

Send pics of the putters he has, and I'll try to help with those too.

DM me your father-in-law's name. I may have known him, or he may have been a member here. I was at that Social, so I'm sure I met him at some point if he had that cover. (Unless he bought it, but those don't change hands often.)

Hey Mr. Doug,
Many thanks for the info and the response.
We live in the UK and as you've given an indication of value on USD I'm guessing it is extremely unlikely that he may have attended any functions as he really didn't travel much at all.
I have attached 10 more pictures (and will send another 10 shortly) and firstly apologise for their somewhat chaotic selction. I will get a more structured group of pictures together at the weekend. The ten in this thread includes the clubs as requested and also a picture of a club that seems to also go with 8148.
Thanks again for your help and concern,
Bob

Your FIL had excellent taste.

Let me put the word out and maybe I can get some other guys to chime in here.

If my GIR was higher, my scores would be lower.
Sorry for your loss. There are no words...
As far as the putters they are beautiful... especially the copper (I am biased). I am not qualified to give them $$ values, but they should fetch a pretty reurn if you should sell them somewhere that appreciates what you have. Good luck... and thanks for sharing pics of them.

The "Tinley Park" copper is a personal favorite. I always like finding those. Should have bought the whole set when I had the chance.

I'm hunting down some people that may be able to chime in.

Unfortunately, they older putters aren't fetching anything close to what he likely paid for them. The more recent stuff is what has all the attention right now. Still...let me see what I can do to help by getting some eyeballs on the collection and offering some opinions.

That's very kind thank you.
There are also a number of Scotty Cameron Putters and headcovers so best I get some kind of a structure and post them in the relevant section
Thanks once again,
Bob

When i create the complete listing/catalogue am I best creating a link to something like a google drive folder or creating individual posts here with 10 pictures in each post ?

Thank you to all for your best wishes - very much appreciated.

I am currently cataloguing the clubs and covers and had a couple of additional questions that might help me tremendously :-

1. What is the correct or accepted way of measuring a putter as I do not have any specialist equipment other than a tape measure
2. I have a few clubs that my FIL had already put what seem to be matching covers on - ie. 3 x Bettinardi C Series and 3 x Bettinardi Black Carbon (BC Series). Is the value higher as combined items or as separate as I assume that some clubs are usually sold without a head and he may well have sourced them after the event.

Many thanks again,

The C and Black Carbon series were all the OTR (Off The Rack) putters sold at finer sporting goods stores. Those won’t carry the premium that the others would.

There are a few of your putters that would have had special headcovers specifically for them. I saw a few in there that you’d already matched up.

Measure straight down the shaft from the floor to the top of the grip. Most of what you have will be 34”-35”. (You’ll need it in inches, as that’s what most clubs are measured in, and where most of your buyers will likely be located.)

Hi All, Please accept my apologies for the delay in posting pictures of the headcovers but it has taken longer than I thought to catalogue them properly to minimise the time for members who are willing to take a look at them. To save time and to make things logical I have taken 4 pictures of each cover and put all 4 pictures in a collage to maximise the 10 pictures per posting limit. All the pictures are numbered H-01-00, H-02,00 and so on so if anyone is able to give any information about them please could they use the corresponding number - I decided to do it this way for again ease of clarity as it makes a little more sense than the original Jpeg numbers - ie. 5537374637.jpg , 665319.jpg etc.
I can't thank you all enough for your help so far.
These covers are "orphans" in so far that I haven't been able to match them to any particular club.
Now all the "orphans" are done I will now start on the clubs themselves, some of which have matching covers.
I hope that all makes sense - apologies if it is a little confusing but I'm trying to learn as fast as I can
With very many thanks,
