My new (to me) Lefty Stainless Steel arrived this morning about 10 minutes before I walked out the door to head for the golf course. So in the bag it went without any "carpet time" and with only half a dozen quick putts back and forth across the practice green before I teed off. First hole was a three-putt from 40 feet but things got better from there as I got used to the heavier weight and different look at address, versus my ancient Bullseye.

Here's a couple of pictures grabbed with the cell phone camera on the front nine. I think it seems quite comfy in my bag even with minimal introduction, don't you?

By the way, on second picture I did not leave that putt short. It was one of those from above the hole that somehow circled around and finished a foot directly behind the hole. I guess even a Mills putter isn't immune to the slings and arrows of outrageous misreads.

Great choice to go with the flow-neck!

The softtail is definitely one of my favorite designs.  Pretty big visual change from a bullseye!

I think that major visual change-of-pace has been good for me. Every time I putt with a Bullseye for a few months I'll eventually start aiming a little bit left for some reason.

This is the first flow neck I've ever been able to putt worth a darned with. The optics are just perfect and it has me back to the a solid, square setup and stroke.

Definitely not a plumbers-neck lover, though. I like the shaft and hosel to be out of my eyeline to the ball.

Nice putter - I think that was originally a belly putter if I'm not mistaken.

Those things should feel like absolute butter!

Here's the Softail Jrich is talking about  8).  Also just picked up some more PutterTape from Jay to keep the bottom fresh. I think this putter is 3 years old and the sole is the same as the day I got it. Can't say enough good things about the PutterTape (although all the TPM guys already know about it).

This thread needs some new pics BAD !!!

How about a "Super Black Diamond Milled" Softtail Mini  :)

These bad boys were HEAVY for the most part. This one at 375g and REALLY torched up  :o

I can't remember how David came up with the face milling, but it looks much better in person than my pics show !!!!

My favorite TP Mills story: I was playing and riding in a cart with Jerry Pate, who has been a friend for decades. He was using a Cameron that had originally been built for TW and would probably sell for $8-10,000. He said, "Try it. It feels like butter." I did. He was not exaggerating. It had a wonderful feel. I handed Jerry my Mills Softail and said, "Certainly, as an Alabama grad, you must have gotten some Mills putters when you were in Tuscaloosa." Jerry flashed his famous wry smile and said, "A long time ago, when Mills' shop was no bigger than two of these golf carts, he made me a putter. I WON THE US OPEN WITH THAT PUTTER!" I said, "Jerry, you win. No way I can top that story!"

Nobody wants to play him one on one. We expect JP to shoot around 67 every time he joins us. He still has a beautiful golf swing. He's definitely an "A" player! We just load up the other team.

You Guys know me Oh Too Well  ::)

I did game it a couple of times before it went into the collection. It is 35" which is too long for me, but I had no intentions of taking a chance of messing up the shaft and grip by cutting it down.
