Seal a gun-blue finish
« on: April 27, 2018, 04:48:44 AM »
Are there any ways, except for the baby oil. I am about to restore an old Laguna. Feel that the gun-blue is neat, but there are pros and cons. Stay away from rust is the con. Any hints would be appreciated/Fred

You can always spray a clear coat from a can over it... I've actually been considering a Cerakote clear finish on an old Newport Classic I refinished recently.  Worked hard to hand make a patina for it and want it to last.

Remington Rem Oil or a silicone spray should be good. Little spray in the head cover should work also. The two Circa 62's from 2006 are wall hangers so maintenance isn't really an issue for carpet rollers.
