AlBz JL13
« on: September 10, 2016, 10:07:40 PM »
So a fellow PT-er put this beautiful JL13 on sale a few weeks ago and I just jumped on it. I don't normally putt with a plumbers neck putter but pleasant surprise, I love this one a lot!  Maybe because of its shorter base, something I really like.

I added the paintfill, put in a Zen shaft and a red Winn grip to match the putter cover it came with.  As always, a Gene Nead putter is special.  Craftsmanship is just top notch.  Perfect!

Congratulations, those were special putters that were made for a friend of Gene (commemorate) who lost his life racing. Looks very nice!

Oh wow, that is certainly worth knowing. Didn't realize it held that much meaning. Do you mind PMing me his name, I would like to adjust the paintfill accordingly.

Out of curiosity, how many of these were made?

Dro, his name is, Jason Leffler. Not certain how many were made. All sales of this putter went to a trust fund that was set up for his young son.

Here's the link I found when this model was first announced by Gene.  Didn't see a mention on quantity built, but gives you a bit of history:
