Quick question on a BB18
« on: January 23, 2016, 02:21:27 PM »
Had this great classic lying around and started putting with it on the carpet in the last week or so.  Does anyone know what the insert material is on these gold-insert putters??  The putter is a Bettinardi BB18 from probably the early 2000s.  Head is carbon steel, but the insert does not pass the magnet test....

Any inputs would be great.  At least for my curiosity.  Thanks

Plated copper was the insert on my MC2. I wasn't sure if it was the same on other inserts.

How heavy is that putter? Biggest problem with all/most of the "classic" older putters is they are often (way!) too light!
Mannkrafted Rattler WideBody/XL

It is gold plated copper, I polished the gold plate off a BB-16 from the same period so, I can say "for sure" its copper.
