Limited edition Wilson 8802 putter
« on: May 12, 2015, 05:22:14 PM »
Hello,
I recently came into a mint condition Wilson 8802 RM putter, the head says that it is 4/98. I havent been able to find any information on the internent about it and was wondering if anyone could help me out with the details of this edition, whether it's real and if so how much it's worth?
Thank you for your help.

It's real, a Robert Mendralla reproduction.  IMO, it is worth $60 - 70.

There are two someone just purchased in a lot of clubs on GolfWRX.  His two are absolute mint and includes the putter bags these came with.  Not sure what his will sell for but I suspect between $100-$120.  Keep in mind these are 10/10 condition with putter bag/case.  This one looks to have been reahafted. Still a nice putter.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the RM retail putters with the bag were like 2000-2500 limited.  The 4/98 on the hosel (I believe) suggests a putter that Mendralla worked on in April of 1998.  I've seen 8802s without the RM stamp with similar hosel engraving.  Those putters are seen going about $100.

OP, can you post better photos of the putter?  Or is the condition of the putter really as bad as it looks?
