GSS Newport II
« on: May 17, 2013, 07:52:56 PM »
Here is a nice GSS Newport II I picked up recently.  It is a hefty 354 grams.  I don't believe it has been refinished as there is still mushrooming around the face stamps and the paint has a nice aged look to it.

There won't be much love for it here although it is very nice looking.  From what I have heard about SC and his "Tour" putters (this is only what I have heard) most of them are OTR's with a stamp?  Again, this is just what I have heard...

This is a GSS, so it's no "OTR with a stamp".
Just sayin'.

Nice pick up jman.  Great gamer right there.
Was it on Ebay?

Yeah, I remember this one.  I think the OP got the seller to end the auction early for a pretty good price IIRC.

Nice putter James.   I like the cleanness of it.
Today is the day I will do what I was going to do yesterday.

I just joined so please excuse my ignorance.
I have read a lot of intelligent comments about how absurd the prices are for the GSS putters...but I still am drawn to wanting one. Where is the best place to find one (new or used)? EBay? Visit the Cameron studio?

Unless I go to California from Ohio, unlikely to find one brand new and I have no idea if I could buy one if I got on a plane and went to Scotty’s place. Are used ones more desirable than newer? Like what years are the best?
How does one verify a used one is not fake? Just a COA? How do you know if it has been refurbished somewhere other than Scotty’s?

Thanks so very much for all comments/suggestions.
