Very nice Craig.  I have never seen the Ben Curtis cover before.  I really dig the Ryder Cup putter too.

Why was the purple not given a COA?

It was deemed to be a fake.  Only Mr. Doug could explain it properly.

I acquired the putter through a mutual friend of the US owner. It came from Japan on a Scotty. The entire collection was bought by an individual to resell on ebay. When it showed up on ebay, someone said it was fake. It was pulled and sent in for a COA. It didnt get one.  It was made by AM@E. FWIW
The owner through it in storage for sometime, he then gave it to me for some favors. Ive had it for a year or two.

Wasn't this one of the covers made in China for an Australian, with a fake AM&E tag?  IIRC, the Studio and AM&E checked and found that this color was not made in that timeframe.  It's been a few years, so I could be wrong.

John,
I was under the impression it was made by AM&E without permission, but Doug knows for sure.  Whats facinating about this cover is it is a perfect Scott Cameron Nylon. It came on a putter that was part of a $50K collection that "seascape " purchased to sell for profit. The Japanese collector didn't want his peers to know he was in financial trouble, so it was all sold individually here in the states.  It was given to me by a friend who wanted to see if I could get a COA for it, obviously it didnt, and I created a firestorm last year on the other site when I posted pics of it.  I keep it now to remind myself to never  buy anything Cameron without a COA. Im just lucky my friend gave it to me. I was naive at the time, and probably would have paid hundreds for it.   Im not suggesting that it isnt a fake, because it is, just showing hard it is to know.

I am not sure but I think the purple Scott Cameron head cover may have been produced at the request of Piece Of Time. Some stuff Piece Of Time had made get A COA's other do not. Piece Of Time was one of the original distributors for Cameron in the late 1980's and early 1990's. He had a contract with Cameron for the exclusive distribution of Cameron merchandise in Hawaii and Asia. There is a lot of Piece Of Time Cameron paraphernalia in Japan and Asia that was made by Piece Of Time via the contracts with Cameron. I understand there was a falling out between the two just before Cameron signed with Titleist.

The authenticity of the purple head cover may be a matter of semantics.
Was it made by AM&E? Most likely.

Was it originally "authorized" by Cameron? You would need to read the contract between Piece Of Time and Cameron to know for sure.

I may be wrong about this cover.  I thought it was one of cammodude's covers.  Remember, the guy who showed up all of a sudden with loads of rare $1K and $2K covers.  Looked good but AM&E tags were wrong, and so were the covers.  I think Acushnet is still deciding how to go after him.   ;)  Sorry for the threadjack there, craiga.

I think if it was a complete fake Acushnet/Titleist/Cameron would have been justified and within the law to confiscate the head cover and it would not have been returned. If it were made by AM&C by Piece Of Time under the contract between Piece Of Time and Cameron, then it is not a fake and Acushnet/Titleist/Cameron would not have any legal basis to confiscate the item. As has been the case with other items, Cameron can issue or refuse to issue a COA on anything he wants and can call something authentic on not at his complete discretion.

Because the head cover was returned I do not believe it was a fake.

Thanks all above,
I did have all the putters to go with the headcovers.  My very first Cameron piece was the 2002 My Gir, and it was my favorite coverl.
